Let It Rain

“The Best thing we can do when it’s raining, is to let it rain.”
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow -American Poet
Well, we’re into our second week of the new website and I have had some fantastic feedback! So thank you for all your comments, they are appreciated.
“So what’s happening this week, Tim?” I hear you say.
Well, I was no stranger to learning myself this week, after one of the tutors at Chandlers Ford explained the Rain Water Harvesting and Grey Water Recycling System to me. It has been installed for a few months now and thought it only right that I check it out. Impressive stuff I must admit! Not knowing a lot about plumbing I am not going to go into major detail about it but, suffice to say I think it is the way forward. A few of the Green Energy students also agreed with me, one of them telling me about the water crisis in China, of which I had no idea.
I find it amazing that we take such simple things as water coming out of a tap for granted and we naturally assume that there will be an endless supply. Unfortunately, this is not the case. But more people are ‘wising up’ to climate change and having systems such as the one at Chandlers Ford installed in an effort to reduce, not only their environmental impact on the Earth, but the impact on their wallets as well. It’s a big market that the rest of Europe has embraced and good ol’ Blighty is following closely behind. So if you are interested in our Domestic Green Engineer Programme then please go to:

On a more serious note, I would like to thank all the staff, tutors and students that observed the two minute silence on Tuesday for Armistice Day.
That’s all for this week folks, thanks for reading and tune in next week!!
